Every student of biblical prophecy operates with a limited range of vision. Sincere believers can misinterpret prophetic scripture due to hidden factors such as prejudices, biases, and false socio-political-religious paradigms.
Until the Lord Jesus returns for his church, our knowledge of the deep mysteries of biblical prophecy will be incomplete to varying degrees. This is why I believe it is important for each of us to "despise not prophesyings" (1 Thessalonians 5:20).

"For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." (1 Corinthians 13:9-12) "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:2)

The true church is a living body. As we learn prophetic truth together, our authority should always be a correct interpretation of scripture. 

God isn't going to pour all of his understanding into just one vessel. Pride will come before our fall if we think our age, years of Christian experience, position in the church, intelligence, education, or anything else about us qualifies us as THE prophecy expert.   

Rather than immediately dismissing an unfamiliar interpretation of prophetic scripture because it conflicts with what we've always heard, we should test the teaching. This testing process might require research into specific aspects of the world system and or world events associated with the context of the prophecy. Once the context is understood, our next step should be to compare the teaching against scripture. The faithful teacher must be willing to realign their belief should the Holy Spirit reveal that God's Word aligns with specific aspects of the world system and or world events associated with the fulfillment of that teaching.  

It is helpful to read older prophecy books to understand the errors other teachers have made. As humans, we are subject to impatience, pride, and rivalry. We can't forget that Satan can stage counterfeit fulfillments of prophecy. His counterfeit can be used to fool an impatient, competitive, prideful teacher hoping to make a name and money for themselves from their new spin on truth.   

There are also many sincere professing christians who teach error as dogmatic truth. They support evil while believing they are doing good. As a result of their error, they pray and teach in vain because it's not done both in spirit and in truth.  

The reason for this widespread deception is due factors such as those listed below. 

  1. lack of knowledge of current U.S. domestic and foreign policy
  2. ignorance concerning U.S. Constitutional law and it's application today
  3. lack of knowledge of the new international order and the role of the United States in it
  4. media programming
  5. government propaganda
  6. peer pressure/fear of man and rejection
  7. family tradition/fear of man and rejection
  8. biblical ignorance of God's mind on socio-political issues

It's my hope and prayer that through fellowship with one another, we can further our knowledge of God's prophetic word and stimulate one another towards love and good works.
